Essential Information

Lake Mills, WI 53551

Picture yourself at a turn-of-the century American foursquare home in legendary Lake Mills, Wisconsin.

Relax at Sweet Autumn Inn with a good book, play cards, board games or work a puzzle in front of a crackling fireplace in winter or in warmer weather. Sit under the pines or in the garden listening to the brook as it makes its way to the lily pond. Bird watching is a must since we have many kinds that show up to dine here. You'll find Sandy Beach on beautiful and legendary Rock Lake, which is a short walk away. Enjoy swimming, sunbathing, boating, fishing and the Sand Bar restaurant for great food and cocktails. Sandy Beach is just one of several fine beaches on Rock Lake.

Teri and Steve invite you to enjoy the beauty and charm of their 1910 home set on nearly an acre of land. This home has many towering pines, maples, oaks and other trees as well as mock orange and lilac, giving a feeling of being in the heart of the country while only minutes from downtown shopping and restaurants.

A large veranda is filled with comfortable wicker chairs. A deck by the lily pond invites you to sit and relax or walk in the gardens. On cooler evenings gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows.

Inside you'll enjoy the large living room fireplace which is flanked by unusual leaded glass windows. In the dining room, a massive built-in china closet is topped by clerestory windows. A large bay window is covered with Sweet Autumn clematis and morning glory, making this room a lovely place to gather for breakfast. An open stairway with unique "slag" glass windows at the landing leads you to the guest rooms. Original oak and maple woodwork fills this lovely home with old world craftsmanship.
