Wonder Woman: Lori Wendricks M.D.
The day of an ob/gyn is never dull. In a given week, one might provide prenatal care for an expecting mother and perform a hysterectomy.
It’s a balance of surgeries, treatments and deliveries and requires a doctor who enjoys all aspects of the field. And Dean’s Lori Wendricks does.
“Delivering babies was the most exciting thing I did in medical school. I also liked surgery. Ob/gyns do both,” she explains.
During her ten years with Dean, Wendricks has delivered 2,000 babies and helped many more mothers-to-be prepare for their new arrivals.
She’s also helped women by offering procedures that put them in control of their reproductive health.
Wendricks is passionate about empowering women to take responsibility for their health, whether by staying healthy during a pregnancy or having a voice in their fertility.
Perhaps it’s this kind of confident, patient-first attitude that moved Kendrick’s peers to name her a 2010 Top Doctor.
