Spicy ethnic food is in and fusion trendy. Ha Long Bay’s menu is a multipage tome of tempting Southeast Asian dishes. Hues of coral and lime make this unpretentious restaurant pleasant, but it’s the food that impresses. The Vietnamese specialties are some of the most authentic in our area and range from the prerequisite pho to exotic bánh xéo—a French-inspired fried crepe. Thai and Laotian favorites and seafood choices abound. Everything is freshly prepared, bursting with flavor and presented with panache.
