Say "I do" to the Wedding Cake Martini

There are so many joyful reasons to attend a wedding: Seeing a couple madly in love, catching up with old friends, dancing the night away. But admit it, knowing you’ll get a big piece of cake plays a role too, right?

Then be sure to try the Wedding Cake Martini the next time you’re at The Brink Lounge, a bar that’s hosted over a hundred receptions over the past four years. A mix of vodka, amaretto, cream and fruit juices, it’s a bright, flavorful and slightly frothy drink that lives up to its name.

“It kind of tastes like cheesecake,” says general manager Matt Brink, adding that the amaretto lends a layer of almond flavor to the cocktail. And the pale color has proven handy at weddings. “It’s white, so if it spills on the bride it’s not a problem.”

Rich and creamy, yet light and fruit-tinged, the martini could serve as a stand-in for the traditional wedding dessert. But—even better—it would be divine with that slice of cake.

RECIPE: Wedding Cake Martini

2 oz vodka
1 oz amaretto
1 oz orange juice
1 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz cream

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a martini glass.
