Old View New Scene
Jovian Taphaus has good food with a view
Editor's Note: Jovian Taphaus Grill is now closed.
Perched on a ridge, Jovian Taphaus Grill presents a memorable panorama of Madison’s skyline. Toasting the sunset here is a nightly ritual. The restaurant (formerly Cloud 9) celebrates the seasons with dining on the patio in summer and by the fireside in winter. Food is down-to-earth—schnitzel and spätzle, roasted pork shoulder, grilled aged steaks. The beer choice is breathtaking—domestic and imported, on draft and in bottles. There is also an outlook to save with seasonal and nightly specials, $5 appetizers and Happy Hour drinks. Best of all, everything comes with a million-dollar view, compliments of the house.
