Where Are They Now?
Louise Marston Conklin
Louise Marston Conklin (Sept 1989) When she appeared on our cover in Sept. 1989, Louise Marston Conklin credited her sense of humor for getting her through forty-one years as a society editor for the Wisconsin State Journal. Others appreciated her sense of humor, too—she was invited to speak at 1,600 events during her time at the Journal and led AAA trips to Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Despite her worldly ways, Marston Conklin dedicated her life to Madison and lived downtown at 1 Langdon Street from the beginning of her career in 1934 until her death in 2003.
