When I think of food, I think of family. Being in my kitchen, a close friend or loved one nearby. There's equal parts laughter, chopping and concentration when preparing my piquant fare. This is the scene at the kitchen of Quince & Apple, makers of small batch preserves and syrups.
On the fourth floor of the Madison Enterprise Center at 100 S. Baldwin St., husband and wife duo Matt and Clare Stoner Fehsenfeld have built their family-style business concocting flavorful renditions of marmalade, confit, preserves and syrups to satisfy even the most scrupulous of foodies.
Pears by the pound go into creating the Pear with Honey and Ginger preserves, which makes for an excellent spread atop your favorite danish, and unique flavor combinations in the Rhubarb Hops syrup are sure to add a splash of sophistication to a glass of champagne at your next soirée.
