A Restaurant Worth a Drive

The Buckhorn Supper Club restaurant draws you in for the food and captures you with the view

It’s a supper club with all the right stuff. The Buckhorn, just off the main highway on Lake Koshkonong, has wooed locals and weekenders alike for more than sixty years. Predictably, steaks and seafood come grilled and fried, but the specialty of the house is slow-cooked prime rib. Of course, there’s a Friday night fish fry. Come summer, much-anticipated treats are the outdoor lobster boils and commodious lakeside deck. Service is genuinely friendly, and more than likely owners Chico and Dawn Pope will stop by your table before you leave. But before you do, have one of their son’s homemade desserts.
