Natt Spil means “night play” in Norwegian, and it’s Chris and Prentice Berge’s latest project. The décor of the 211 King Street establishment is a crazy but compatible-and-cozy jumble of European and Asian styles. If there’s a single theme here it’s wood – from the hand-hewn booths to the wood-fired oven. The small food menu is fanciful, featuring main courses cooked over cherry wood: pizzas, sandwiches, rosemary-skewered lamb, swordfish, chicken or wild mushroom kabobs. The big bar menu is eclectic, encompassing cocktails, top-shelf brands of spirits, beer and wine. True to its name, Natt Spil is open every night from 4:30 p.m. until bar time and serves food until 1 a.m.
