Echo of Praise
Old school eats still just as good
Critics agree: much has changed in seventy years at this downtown tavern—lately for the better. The spruced-up inside is the place to be on game day; the expansive outside patio couldn’t be more alluring in summer. It’s a neighborhood bar and grill that caters to an eclectic mix of those who make downtown home. A beer drinker’s rendezvous, the Echo has twenty varieties on tap with many more available in bottles or cans. Faultless fried cheese curds, classic cheeseburgers and handmade pizza win rave reviews. Truly out of the ordinary, though, and a bargain to boot, are the giant calzones.
