Bakke spends much of her time spreading the word about DAIS and raising funds to expand the organization’s opportunities. |

Komen Volunteer Works in Honor of SisterAfter Cathy Genin discovered her sister was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, she knew she had to become involved with finding a cure. First a walker, Genin has now volunteered at Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for the past seven years. As a member of the registration committee, Genin enjoys watching the participants bond under one common goal- to raise funds and breast cancer awareness. |

MSO Couple Volunteers Together to AchieveOne of Madison’s most dynamic duos, Nick and Elaine Mischler express their passion for music as dedicated Madison Symphony Orchestra volunteers. Both believe in the importance of introducing music to many people, especially children. In addition to MSO programs for students, Nick and Elaine work with the HeartSrings Program to expose MSO to community members with disabilities as well as senior centers. |

Olbrich’s Charm Brings Volunteer DelightAs president of the Olbrich Botanical Gardens Society board of directors, Janet Loewi dedicates her time preserving the beauty of Olbrich. Also a member of the Rhapsody in Bloom Committee, Loewi helps plan events and fundraisers in the community. In addition to her event planning, one of Loewi’s favorite ways to volunteer is gardening. |
