Heritage Tavern’s Artfully Crafted Cuisine

Chef Dan Fox puts a spin on the classics for a modern fine dining experience

Peanut oil-fried whitefish over Szechuan pepercorn slaw is one tempting dinner option, while the Gianduja Chocolate Tart is a perfect finale.

At his new restaurant, chef Dan Fox is the middle man between farmer and diner. His artfully crafted dishes rely on quality ingredients, not gimmickry. Some, like the feast of fried whole red snapper with poached lobster and curry sauce, are impressive indeed. His chocolate tart with maple candied hazelnuts, caramel sauce and espresso ice cream is divinely inspired. The downtown setting is sleekly modern without being stark. Service is amicably accommodating without being overbearing. Heritage Tavern’s name suggests a respect for the past, but clearly it is all about the moment.
