Buck and Honey's in Sun Prairie has a Posh Tavern Atmosphere

It's a supper club, made modern

Taverns have always been as much about dining as drinking. Buck & Honey’s in Sun Prairie epitomizes the evolution of this much-beloved Wisconsin institution. Gone are the neon beer signs, replaced with big-screen TVs, and Formica counters are updated with lacquered hardwood. It’s utility with posh. Microbrews, urbane wines and top-shelf spirits aim to please the particular. Food is eclectic yet familiar: pizza, fish tacos, grilled salmon and steak and, of course, the Friday night fish fry. Weekly and nightly specials along with comfy-but-stylish desserts round out the menu. Buck & Honey’s slogan is “Celebrating a simpler time,” and does so in an up-to-date way.

SIMPLY GOOD (Clockwise from top left): Shrimp and scallop pasta; Slow roasted bone-in pork shank drizzled with a light dijon reduction sauce served with potatoes and veggies; And the sesame wrapped sliced ahi tuna appetizer on a wonton cracker drizzled with soy glaze and wasabi mayo.
