FEAST
Reflecting on a life well spent
Poet Yvonne Yahnke likes to sum up the important moments in her life by saying, “Born in Minnesota. Raised in Illinois. Met my husband in California. Married in Iowa. I found my [poetic] voice in Wisconsin.” Her poem Feast is a reflection of a life well spent amidst the beauty of words. — Fabu
FEAST
My plate is full of the victuals
of growing old. Bones picked
clean by the vagaries of fate.
Cream of youth, mousse of middle age,
laughter, the dinner music amid
the wine of some very good years.
Adult poets are invited to submit poems of twenty lines or less to fabu@artistfabu.com for possible publication in Madison Magazine. fabu@artistfabu.com.
