Doggone It
The mayor shares the spotlight with his dog Calvin

I’ve always enjoyed being featured in Madison Magazine, but now my dog Calvin is gracing its pages, too. He doesn’t deserve it. I mean, what’s he done to improve the city lately? I have to face it, though, this kind of stuff always happens to the guy. If here were a person Calvin would be Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke or Steve McQueen in The Great Escape. A good looking, cocky guy who drives you to the brink of distraction only to turn on the charm and disarm you. I’m hoping he matures into a responsible canine citizen, but I’m not optimistic. On the other hand, my wife Diane likes him a lot.
