Madison Gay Hockey Association (MGHA), an adult developmental ice hockey league for people of all sexualities and gender identifications, is hosting an open skate fundraiser. Blades Against AIDS will be held Saturday March 16th, 2013 from 5pm-7pm at the Hartmeyer Ice Arena located at 1834 Commercial Avenue in Madison. The goal of this event is to raise HIV awareness and its effects on the LGBTQ community. Proceeds from this event will benefit the AIDS Network. “We are excited for the 5th Annual Blades Against AIDS fundraiser and look forward to continue to support the AIDS Network.” said David Hafner, Blades Against AIDS Chairperson for MGHA. Blades Against AIDS is open to the public. Admission is $5 for ages 11- 17, $10 for ages 18 and up, children under 10 years of age are free. Admission includes food, drinks, and skate rentals. There will be raffle prizes, games, and more at this event.
