The Deals and the Dish on Where You Need to Shop

Pick of the Week, Plus an Event
I have long enthusiastically supported shopping at consignment and thrift shops, finding a good deal and having a one-of-kind-item. All three ain't bad, either. I stopped in to Lady Moxie this week to meet new owner Corey Burger, who took over the business after Elizabeth Wewerka left.
If you don't know, Lady Moxie is a higher-end consignment shop that takes gently-used clothing by premium brands (7 for All Mankind, Fendi, BCBG, et cetera). As I was browsing there I came across this Betsey Johnson treasure. I will admit, most of my belts are from thrift or consignment shops. Like the three gold belts I've purchased from the HospiceCare Thrift Store and the red and silver/gold vintage belts I scored from a now-shuttered vintage shop. Oh, and then there's the woven striped belt I stole from my parent's closet—the type you'd see in an all-American ad like Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger. Ah, yes my belt wardrobe is pleasingly varied, and yet, amazingly affordable.
I'm pleased to add this new Betsey Johnson one to the mix—I paid under $20 for this studded stunner. For now I'm going wear it with my black sateen trench shown in the photo, but I imagine I might pair it with an ensemble or two, too.
