Pick of the Week: Pretty in Pink

Pick of the Week: Pretty in Pink

Typically October makes us think of lovely fall colors: rusty oranges, chocolate browns, brilliant reds. But another contender is right up there: pink. That's because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—even the NFL is getting in the act this month with many of the players sporting pink wrist bands, shoes and towels (let's just say I've had to watch the games). I recently purchasedT and boyshort set, $10 Seche Vite's Fast-Dry Top Coat nail polish from Sally Beauty Supply and at the cash register was offered a different bottle that was the same price and came with a pink bracelet—the proceeds went to fund breast cancer research. Of course I happily took that bottle instead; the little things really add up when it comes to raising big money for worthy causes.

That's why I love Kohl's Cares Simply Vera Vera Wang's breast cancer merchandise. It's a variety of very cute items that would be a perfect gift for a breast cancer survivor or for yourself—to support the cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to support the fight against breast cancer. Items include a chic ruffled coin purse (above, $10), pink ribbon pin, utterly fashionable T-shirts with screen-printed with "shopping girls" and T-shirt/boy short sets. If you need an affordable, go-to gift—stop by Kohl's to look at this stuff—pricesSimply Vera Vera Wang girl and dog tee, $5 range from $5 to $10!
