Pick of the Week: Fall Find
A couple of years ago, I really wasn't into scarves that weren't the outdoor wool variety. I didn't understand how to wear them with an outfit, and they always looked too old to me. The ways I had seen them worn (up until the last couple of years) was either tied in a jaunty knot around the neck, or draped over a turtleneck sweater.
And up until the last few years scarves really weren't in the fashion forefront the way they are now. They come in endless color combos, prints and fabrics. Now you can find them everywhere from mass merchandisers like Target to local boutiques like The Purple Goose to Karen & Co. And yesterday I spotted these fabulous wool/silk versions by Amet & Ladou at Karen &Co./Sassafras that were so chic that I had to snap a photo of them. They come in several color combos and I love the animal print. If you look closely you'll even see charming polka dots stitched on to the scarves, too (I'm told that's Amet & Ladou's signature, the polka dots).
The wool/silk fabrication means that you can wear this scarf year-round—the fabric is essentially seasonless, so it would look perfect with a tank and shorts in the summer; and a blazer, T and jeans in the winter.
