Dodgeville-based Lands’ End is getting in on the Black Friday action by offering St. Nick’s Picks, online promotions for outerwear, boots, cashmere and more at up to fifty percent off at Visit the website this Friday, November 25—and promos will run through December 20 for new daily picks, also at up to fifty percent off.

On Cyber Monday (November 28) Lands’ End will launch the 12 Hours of Twitter event (@LandsEndPR) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’ll have giveaways, offers and advice for holiday entertaining.

And if you have a tablet or iPhone? Check out the digital editions of Lands’ End’s catalogs from the iTunes app store and via the Google Catalogs app.


Love local art? Then share it with a giftee this year and stop by the MMoCA Museum Store for twenty-five percent off ONE item from 9 a.m.-noon on Black Friday (November 25). Speaking of art, did you know Overture is even having a Black Friday sale? Yep. Starting at midnight on Friday until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, November 29, tickets to twenty-seven shows will be on sale. And there’s no need to wait outside of the ticket office—the tickets are on sale online! Look for such shows as NPR’s Ira Glass, The Nutcracker, Second City and more!


Three Orange Doors is getting in on the Small Business Saturday action by offering $5 off your purchase of $25 or more (sign up for their email list). For American Express cardholders (sponsor of Small Business Saturday) sign up here and register your card—you can get a $25 statement credit if you purchase $25 or more at a participating small business. Orange Tree Imports is giving away a free pewter snowflake ornament if you mention their most recent email (you have to be on their email list) through Sunday, November 27. Also get your picture taken in their photo booth from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, or stop in Saturday and pick up red and white beads for the Badger home game. Of course if you make a $25 or more purchase at Orange Tree, you’ll get that one-time statement credit as well.

On Saturday, November 26, Downtown Madison Inc. kicks off the holiday season with its Holiday Open House from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The event will include trolley rides, gift bags, special offers, complimentary refreshments at participating shops, kids’ activities and more. On Saturday, December 3, 10 and 17 holiday carolers will stroll State Street the Square from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to grace shoppers with holiday tunes. The trolley will also be in operation on these dates from noon-4 p.m.


More shopping? You bet. The Atwood-Winnebago area hosts its own Winter Festival on Friday, December 2 from 5-9 p.m. Stores will have free samples, live music and demonstrations. Absolutely Art, bad dog frida, Anaala Salon & Spa, Gail Ambrosius Chocolatier and other participants will be happy to see you. If you’re hungry while shopping, stop and check out Stalzy’s Deli, Bunky’s Café, Wilson’s, the Green Owl and more for dining specials throughout the evening.

As I mentioned previously, the Holiday Craftacular is on Saturday, December 3, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at The East Side Club. Find handmade, quirky housewares, jewelry and gifty items from fifty-plus artists and crafters. As I can testify from visiting handmade havens Anthology and The Glitter Workshop (who puts on the Craftacular) these items are not to be missed.
