Fall Fashion for a Good Cause

Fall Fashion for a Good Cause

Last week Domestic Abuse Intervention Services hosted their first fashion show called Dress for DAIS. The event, held at the Legends at Bergamont, was a fantastic success and featured twelve local retailers in a fashion-forward runway show. Participating boutiques included Chauette, Cornblooms, Jan Byce Designs, Lu Anders Boutique, Neena, Plum Crazy, The Purple Goose, ReThreads, Terese Zache, Zip-Dang and shoo.
Each shop focused on a strong fall trend: ReThreads showed vintage/ladylike ensembles, Neena emphasized knits and layers and The Purple Goose showed easy, yet stylish ways for weekend dressing.

Proceeds went to fund DAIS’s programs. For those who aren’t aware of DAIS, this nonprofit operates Dane County’s only domestic violence shelter, as well a twenty-four-hour crisis line, legal advocacy, emergency safety planning, support groups and children’s programming. So this very worthy cause was something to cheer about as we watched about six looks per boutique parade down the runway, all modeled by friends of the boutique owners—in other words, “real women.”
