Madison Children's Museum Appreciation Days

When: November 5–14
Where: Capitol Kids, 8 S. Carroll St.
Details: Print off the coupon on the kid's boutique website and twenty percent of your purchase will go to the Children's Museum. This locally owned, ten-year-old shop has super stylish kids' clothes, long-lasting toys and games that the whole family can enjoy.

Madison Bead Society Annual Show and Sale

When: November 20, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
Where: Westgate Mall atrium, (Whitney Way and Odana Road)
Details: Handcrafted work from local artisans is for sale, including jewelry and beaded creations.

Confectionique Craft Market

When: November 26, 7 a.m.–4 p.m.; December 2, 6 p.m.–9 p.m.
Where: Confectionique, 8300 Airport Rd. (Middleton/Morey Airport)
Details: Confectionique is open one weekend per month and one Thursday night for a Nuit Blanche market. Get a start on holiday shopping with their upcoming markets, filled with handmade treasures of revamped and reclaimed vintage goods. Check out pillows, home décor, jewelry and kids’ items. Black Friday Sale

When: November 26, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Where: MMoCA Museum Store, 227 State St.
Details: Head out early to get the best deals at the Museum of Contemporary Art Store—customers can get one item for twenty-five percent off (like the Resource Revival bike-gear desk clock, above!). If you’re a Museum member, you can get an additional ten to twenty percent off for a total savings of thirty-five to forty-five percent off. Downtown Open House

When: November 27, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Where: State Street and the Capitol Square
Details: Downtown’s annual tradition of sales, trolley rides, free gift bags and snacks at local retailers kicks off this holiday season. The free trolley rides continue through December 18.

Winnebago-Atwood Winter Festival

When: December 3, 5–9 p.m.
Where: Winnebago Street to Atwood Avenue
Details: This little east-side shopping enclave doesn’t seem to get as much attention as downtown or Hilldale Mall, but it’s a funky little strip of shops ranging from a pet store to athletic apparel to a yummy chocolate shop. So far participating retailers include: Absolutely Art, bad dog frida, Buddie’s Bites/Talbot Photography, Bunky’s Café, Catalyst, Eastside Shoe Repair, Gail Ambrosius, Lilian’s Shoppe, Monty’s Blue Plate Diner, Operation Fresh Start, The Green Owl, Victory Coffee Shop, Wilson’s Bar & Grill and Yonda’s Photography.
