A Fashionable Farewell

A Fashionable Farewell

“Replace the fear of the unknown with curiosity.”

Have you ever thought about something that you’ve always wanted to know about, something you’ve always wanted to do, and just done it? That, after all, is how great ideas are born: someone took an idea and made it happen.

Well blog readers, that’s what I’ve decided to do, is take a new(ish) career path and enter the retail e-commerce world. I’ve been brought on as a creative director for a new Madison based e-commerce website that will focus on eyewear and accessories. We’re not launched yet, but we’re in the process right now of building our concept.

Fashion and style have always been my “thing,” and it‘s brought me much happiness throughout the years to share with Madisonians the chic, local shops we have in this city to choose from. It‘s even better bringing retailers’ stories to you, of how they‘ve operated a successful small business out of a desire to bring Madison something new, or how they too, changed career paths and decided to go into retail.

While that means I won’t be continuing my Window Shopping weekly blog, it does mean that I’ll continue to bring you unparalleled style coverage for the magazine as a freelancer. That’s right, I’ll still be writing my monthly column for the magazine and doing a City Style shoot for the print magazine every month.

So please continue to join me on this fashionable journey through Madison every month in the magazine!

About This Blog

As Madison Magazine's style editor, Shayna Mace writes the monthly "Window Shopping" column about Madison's coolest store owners, products and shops. She also reports on Madison's most stylish people, chic items she loves, store events and sales, and additional dish in her weekly blog. Her favorite places to check out around town are local boutiques, consignment and vintage shops for one-of-a-kind treasures, new restaurants and bars, and anywhere that affords her the opportunity to meet and talk to Madison's most inspirational (and many times, fashionable!) people.
