My Wish List

My Wish List

I'm going strong on the gift theme these last few weeks. Last week I shared how to give a gift they won't return. This week I wanted to name a few of my fave gift picks for the season that'll hopefully help you do your own shopping!

Planning Ahead

Even though I have a smartphone, I'm still an old-fashioned girl at heart. I'm looking for a 2012 planner that is cool but still compact enough to not require a tote to carry it! I love MyAgenda's planners, like this one with a chic gray metallic cover. Sold locally at The Paper Deli; also featured in our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide!)

Nail It

I'm a huge fan of statement-making nail polish. It's so fun to change up your look temporarily by painting on a bright, bold color, or perhaps some sparkles. Urban Outfitters has a stellar lineup of polishes that I spotted—including gift kits where you can purchase six colors for a slight discount. I spotted a shocking purple, a lovely lilac and an all-sparkle color that I have to run back to buy. A fashionable coworker also tuned me in to FACE Stockholm's polishes, which are sold at J. Crew and come in a pretty nude, sparkly gold and vivid plum (shown), among other colors. FACE Stockholm polish, $10 J. Crew stores or jcrew.com

Helping Hand

I'm kind of a wimp about cold weather, so having accessories to help me brave the temps is imperative. I'm loving the idea of faux-fur lined leather gloves for this winter. Not only does this pair from Wilson's look luxurious, I would feel spoiled with the faux-fur lining! Wilson's leather gloves, $34.99, wilsonsleather.com

Boot Beat

Although I've gotten used to sporting heels as tall as 5" (really), said heels are not as, er, practical for the weekends when I'm running around (or on a workday where I'm doing a lot of walking in general!). Flat boots are my go-to for comfort, style and warmth in the winter and I'm coveting a pair of flat black boots (like these ones) to toughen up some of my ensembles. My flat brown boots get a lot of wear, so I'd love to add some variety with a different color. Lucky Brand "Aida" boots, $199, piperlime.com

MJ Mania

There may have been a time in my younger days when a group of friends and I dressed up as the Jackson Five for Halloween. Maybe. So this brand-new show that's playing in Las Vegas now (and starts touring at the end of December nationwide) is right up my alley! And I want to be one of the lucky ones that sees this spectacle!

Something Sparkly

For New Year's I'd love to don a sequined dress that rivals a disco ball. And since there are so many versions out there, from affordable to pricey, this is one trend that (unlike disco) I hope never dies! BCBG "Marta" 3/4 sleeve sequined dress (I love the jade color!), $398, zappos.com
