Check Out These Style Events This Week and Weekend

We’re lucky here in Madison that we boast the only bop store anywhere! (It helps that the company was founded here). They’ve got two events coming up this weekend that might interest style mavens.

College Fashionista Summer Essentials Event
Thursday, April 25
6-8 p.m.

If you’re not familiar with College Fashionista, it’s a website chock full of street style shots of college students around the U.S. (and worldwide!), plus trend tips and interviews with taste makers. It’s truly a snapshot of campus chic in one place. UW–Madison even has five “style gurus” that pen posts for the site, too—so you can check out what students here on campus are wearing.

This Thursday the bop store is hosting a Summer Essentials event with picks curated by the UW–Madison style gurus. Plus shoppers can get 20% off all regular priced merchandise and are eligible for prizes and giveaways.

Bridal Trunk Show

Saturday, April 27 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, April 28 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Ever dreamed of wearing J. Mendel, Notte by Marchesa or Reem Acra on your wedding day? If you have, you might want to stop by bop’s trunk show this weekend. You can shop discounted gowns and accessories from the site’s curated wedding selection. Sample sales from are extremely rare, so this sale would be worth a stop! (Shown is Reem Acra's Simple Beauty gown, available on

Other wedding vendors will be there like Daffodil*Parker (love them!), A La Crate Vintage Rentals, Tim Fitch Photography, Frosted Cupcakes and Corinne Van Arsale Wedding Planning.

Bop, 222 W. Gorham St. 255-2570.

As Madison Magazine's style editor, Shayna Mace writes the monthly "Window Shopping" column about Madison's coolest store owners, products and shops. She also reports on Madison's most stylish people, chic items she loves, store events and sales, and additional dish in her weekly blog. Her favorite places to check out around town are local boutiques, consignment and vintage shops for one-of-a-kind treasures, new restaurants and bars, and anywhere that affords her the opportunity to meet and talk to Madison's most inspirational (and many times, fashionable!) people.
