The World's Largest Brat Fest will take place Friday through Monday on Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center.

Monday, May 19

It’s time again for Heritage Tavern’s winemaker’s dinner. This month, treat yourself to a five-course meal featuring Napa’s Sinskey Vineyards and Madison’s own, Square Wine Company. Call 608-283-9500 for reservations. $70 tasting menu, $90 with wine pairings, 5:30 p.m., heritagetavern.com

Wednesday, May 21

Join Ignite Madison at the High Noon Saloon in celebrating “All Things Food,” an event where ten passionate Madisonians present their ideas about anything food related—growing, making, sharing, consuming, etc.—in just five minutes. Other highlights include a live DJ, open bar and a raffle. All proceeds will be donated to the Community Action Coalition. $9 in advance, $14 at the door, 8 p.m., ignitemadison.com

Friday, May 23

Celebrate the arrival of summer with the official opening of Capital Brewery’s beer garden and Wisconsin Brewing Company’s backyard. Head to Willow Island for the World’s Largest Brat Fest, Madison’s annual Memorial Day Weekend event. This year Brat Fest features five stages of music, carnival games, a visit from the Weinermobile, fireworks and other activities. Of course, plenty of festival food and brats will be on hand. Proceeds benefit the local charities that help to staff the event. May 23—26, bratfest.com

Saturday, May 24

Catch more than forty live bands at the High Noon Saloon, Brass Ring and Brink Lounge for the Wurst Times Festival, an event celebrating eating and listening locally. Proceeds will help provide musical instruments for kids in Madison schools as well as support the Second Harvest Foodbank. $10 suggested donation, 11 a.m.—9 p.m., wursttimes.com

Memorial Day Weekend marks the start of summer, and with it, summer wines. Join the folks at Square Wine Company for a tasting, featuring wines fit for barbeque season. 12—3 p.m., $10, squarewineco.com
