Take a Culinary Trip to Italy, Via Madison

Every now and then we all experience a little wanderlust. OK, maybe a lot of wanderlust. And if Italy a destination of choice, you’re in luck. Rossana Strunce, who owns Madison travel company Let’s Go To Italy, is leading a trip to the gorgeous and historic Piedmont region October 11–22. Strunce was born in Milan and moved to Madison in 1994 and has travelled extensively throughout Italy and across Europe. She knows her stuff.

Strunce has mapped out an itinerary for the eleven-day extravaganza, dubbed "Castles, Truffles & Wine,"  that includes visits to such places as Stresa (a town on the beautiful Lake Maggiore, pictured above), the Langhe area, the Banca del Vina (ahem, Wine Bank!), the Slow Food Gastronomic University, a remote Benedictine abbey and Alba (the capital of truffles). 

The tour is limited to fourteen people. The early bird discount ($3,950 per person, not including airfair) expires July 1, after which the price is $4,200. The final deadline to sign up is August 15. Sign up details, as well as the full itinerary, are available on the website.
